The Rolla Rural Fire Protection District accepts applications year-round. Applicants must fill-out the application and turn in the
application in at any Tuesday night training meeting, held at Station 1 at 7pm. From there, the application will be reviewed by
members of the Advancement Committee. Final approval will be made by the Chief.
Applications can also be picked up/filled out at the station.
Being a volunteer firefighter involves more than just the title. Mandatory training meetings are held each month, which allows
members to gain the knowledge and skills to remain safe, assist citizens, and keep updated on the rapid-changing hazards that
are involved with the fire & rescue services. Over 500 calls for service come in each year, which means a lot of time must be
given to assist these citizens who call for help. Firefighters are also held to higher standards, while on and off-duty. If you are
still in question about what it takes or how the fire service operates, feel free to attend any Tuesday night training meeting, held
Tuesdays at Station 1 beginning at 7pm.
